{"id":583,"date":"2012-03-22T10:21:57","date_gmt":"2012-03-22T15:21:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wholeperson.com\/wordpress\/?p=583"},"modified":"2016-10-31T10:09:23","modified_gmt":"2016-10-31T16:09:23","slug":"its-summer-bucket-list-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wholeperson.com\/blog\/its-summer-bucket-list-time","title":{"rendered":"It&#8217;s Summer Bucket List Time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>That\u2019s right, it\u2019s already August and fall is racing towards us.\u00a0 Now\u2019s the time to get serious about how you\u2019re going to spend the precious summertime and get busy with both the inner and outer work of growing and developing in your truth.\u00a0 Live.\u00a0 Love.\u00a0 Laugh.<\/p>\n<p>Here is reflection from Joan Borysenko from her Pocketful of Miracles book.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAugust is the month during which nature celebrates her maturity.\u00a0 The hatchlings in the nest have found the wings to fly and the boughs of the old apple tree are heavy with fruit.\u00a0 The Godseed within our hearts is also ripening so that we become more flexible, more tolerant of the shades of gray that characterize life on planet earth.<\/p>\n<p>Every interaction becomes an opportunity to encourage, to be kind as we acknowledge the Godseed within all.\u00a0 As the pumpkins ripen on the vine, mellowing in the shortening days and colder nights, the vine itself begins the dying time.\u00a0 It\u2019s purpose is complete.<\/p>\n<p>August\u00a0 reminds us of the impermanence of all things.\u00a0 All that seems so dependable will someday pass away.\u00a0 In that poignant knowledge we mature\u00a0 into a deeper appreciation of all we have, of all we love.<\/p>\n<p>Listen to the voices of the Ancient Ones that call from the roots of the oaks and willows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">Nature is setting seed,<br \/>\nstoring the energy of the light<br \/>\nfor future generations.<br \/>\nLikewise, our souls are coming to spiritual maturity &#8211;<br \/>\na flexible, gracious attitude that finds intense joy<br \/>\nin the very impermanence of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>I challenge you now.\u00a0<\/strong> Take time to consider what\u2019s important to you now.\u00a0 Yes, everything from spending more time swimming, visiting friends and family, and eating summer\u2019s fresh produce to the deeper things, like helping others, being kind, and doing some soul-searching.<\/p>\n<p>August 1 is the anniversary of my Mother\u2019s passing.\u00a0 Every day, I miss her loving smiles and cheerful encouragement.\u00a0 She taught me to live life to the fullest and to enjoy family and\u00a0 friends.\u00a0 Yes, life is impermanent, so let\u2019s remember what\u2019s important in our own precious life and treasured relationships.<\/p>\n<p>Please share your comments about your bucket list \u2013 from the insane to the simple to the spectacular.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wholeperson.com\/whole-person-authors.shtml#JulieLuskhttp:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"..\/..\/Images\/Authors\/Lusk,%20Julie.jpg\" alt=\"Julie Lusk\" width=\"120\" height=\"150\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a><a title=\"Julie Lusk\" href=\"https:\/\/wholeperson.com\/whole-person-authors.shtml#JulieLusk\" target=\"_blank\">Julie Lusk<\/a><\/strong>, M.Ed., RYT, has dedicated her efforts to helping others attain stress relief, wellness and holistic health through yoga, meditation and guided imagery.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>That\u2019s right, it\u2019s already August and fall is racing towards us.\u00a0 Now\u2019s the time to get serious about how you\u2019re going to spend the precious summertime and get busy with both the inner and outer work of growing and developing in your truth.\u00a0 Live.\u00a0 Love.\u00a0 Laugh.
