Why journal about stress? Most of us are in touch with symptoms related to stress—headaches, sleeplessness, fatigue, stomach aches—but we are not always sure of the underlying causes of our stress. By using this innovative journal for 28 days, you will discover the one or two underlying issues that are causing most of your stress. That's a huge first step. The journal goes on to help you manage your stress. You will be introduced to five relaxation techniques and five cognitive techniques that will help you change the way you deal with and think about stress. Unchecked, stress can take over your life, damage your career, negatively affect relationships, and ultimately lead to illness. During the first week you will jot down events and circumstances that cause you to feel stressed. By Day 8 you will keep track of the stress, but look deeper for its underlying causes. By Day 15 you will begin to learn how to manage your stress, beginning with five relaxation techniques that will help you relieve stress and blow off steam. Finally, during your last week of journaling you will learn the ABC method of coping with your stress. You will never eliminate and cope with all of your stress, but in 28 days you focus on the stress you can control and learn how to eliminate it, avoid it, and cope with it so you feel happier, healthier, and more relaxed. |
